Every young person deserves people who see their potential and believe in them beyond any labels or limitations the world may impose.

#WeSeeMore is an initiative of Act Black, Inc. exploring the powerful role people and programs can play in shaping how Black youth see themselves and what they believe is possible.
Black youth can encounter negative labels and limiting narratives long before they've had the opportunity to fully discover who they are. The intentional presence of people and programs that recognize their gifts, affirm their value, and believe in their potential can help counter those messages, strengthening how young people see themselves and expanding their sense of what is possible.

Who saw more in you?
Do you remember the person who recognized something in you before you fully recognized it in yourself? A teacher, coach, mentor, family member, neighbor?
Share your story. Post a photo, a few words, or a video using #WeSeeMore and tag @ActBlackOrg as we explore the people and experiences that helped us reach for more.
THEACADEMY365
Champions for Black Boys
Our inaugural #WeSeeMore film features THEACADEMY365, a New Jersey youth development organization for Black boys whose work embodies the very idea behind the initiative. Through a holistic approach that includes Black Boys Deserve to Smile, its mental wellness initiative, financial literacy, personal development, exposure to new experiences, and ongoing coaching, THEACADEMY365 helps boys build the confidence, skills, and support systems to thrive.

Who sees more in your community?
Black-led organizations across the country are creating spaces for young people to be seen, supported, and encouraged to reach for more.
Help sustain their impact. Invest directly in THEACADEMY365, the organization featured in our inaugural film, or find a Black-led organization serving young people in your community through Giving Gap's national directory of Black-founded nonprofits.
